Parham Maghsoodloo was born in 2000, and he started working in chess for a very long time, and I mean that! Before going into that, he is a three-time national chess champion, and he got the IM and GM title at his 16 years.

But we can see they developed a strong desire to become a top-tier chess player, which is important. Everyone can get anywhere they propose to if they are willing to pay the price, and that is simply hard working.

Parham Maghsoodloo stated that he worked for 15 to 20 hours a day to prepare for the World Junior chess championship. And effectively his training paid off, he won the tournament and become the Junior Chess champion in 2018.

Everyone was really surprised about this, but he states that he doesn’t work that much now. The important thing is that desire for competition is something important to progress in top-level chess.

And this is something that he already showed us he has, and also, how hard he works for something when he wants it. He said he wanted to play at the top level, and he has already achieved that, the question is “now what will he want?”.

Note that the World Junior Chess Tournament was a practice for him! As he said in a ChessBase interview: “I was experimenting with my openings… I think this will prepare me better for the Olympiads!”
