World champion: Hikaru Nakamura in Reykjavik

It seems that Reykjavik is a city that only Americans can conquer, since Hikaru Nakamura recently defeated the Russian Ian Nepomniachtchi in what was a luxurious and quite complicated final that managed to satisfy the chess world for the brilliant games exhibited by both players.

The match recalls the last world championship played in the city where Bobby Fischer would defeat Boris Spasski 50 years ago, and where only Americans can taste victory.

But the Kadas opening is not simply a blunder, you have to know that chess is very relative, like everything in life. Many conditions take part in the game of chess, even the clock, which doesn’t even have to do with chess essentially.

The point is the Kadas opening starts with an objectively bad move with white, but is still not clear how black is … Read more

Play The Interesting Modern Defense!

Modern defense

Nowadays, simple systems with a lineal plan and development are getting more and more famous. You can see for example the London system, a very simple opening with a lot of poison. Today we will talk about modern defense.

The modern defense for black is one of the brand new ideas to counter white’s queen’s pawn in the opening.

In chess, each piece has a specific and limited move, and cannot move beyond its restrictions. The knight's move is unique in the sense that it is the only move that allows it to jump over other chess pieces.

While most chess pieces only move in a straight or diagonal line, the knight can jump directly to a square that is two squares forward and one square to the left or right (or vice versa), or to a square that is one square forward or backward and two squares to the left or right (or vice versa).

This jumping movement allows the knight to bypass other pieces on the board, which allows it to move to areas of the board that might be blocked by other pieces.

Therefore, the knight move is a very important strategic move in chess, and can be used to surprise opponents and create advantage in the game #Chess #HorseMovement #ChessStrategy."
